You have submitted a Vietnam e-visa application and it is still pending. Your flight is getting closer. This page explains what is actually happening with your application, what you can do to move it forward, and — critically — what you must not do.
The single most important rule: Do not submit a second application. A duplicate application triggers a 24–48 hour processing hold on both, making your situation significantly worse.
Step 1 — Check Your Current Application Status
Before taking any action, confirm your application's current status:
- Go to evisa.gov.vn/e-visa/search
- Enter your reference code (format: E260705...) and passport number
- Note the exact status shown
| Status | What it means | Action |
|---|---|---|
| Pending / Processing | In the government queue, no issue flagged | Speed Up escalation available — see below |
| Amendment Required | Application on hold — issue flagged by portal | Contact VietnamVisaEasy — free error check |
| Approved | Visa is ready | Download PDF and check all details |
Step 2 — Speed Up Your Existing Application
If your application is in Pending / Processing status and your flight is approaching, VietnamVisaEasy can apply a Speed Up escalation to your existing application. This is not a new application — it is a prioritisation request on the one you have already submitted.
Key points about Speed Up:
- No second USD 25 government fee is payable — you already paid this
- Speed Up fees are lower than new-application urgent fees
- Contact VietnamVisaEasy with your reference code and flight details to initiate
| Speed Up Tier | Escalation Target | Fee (USD) |
|---|---|---|
| Speed Up 3-Day | Within 3 business days | 70 |
| Speed Up 2-Day | Within 2 business days | 80 |
| Speed Up 1-Day | Next business day | 90 |
| Speed Up 5-Hour | Within 5 hours | 100 |
| Speed Up 2.5-Hour | Within 2.5 hours | 130 |
| Speed Up 1.5-Hour | Within 1.5 hours | 160 |
| Speed Up Weekend | Weekend / holiday escalation | 210 |
| Speed Up Emergency | 30–60 min (Mon–Fri) | 190 |
No second government fee. Speed Up fees are for escalation service only. Contact VietnamVisaEasy via WhatsApp to initiate.
If Your Status Shows Amendment Required
Amendment Required means the Vietnamese government portal has flagged an issue with your submitted application. This is not a rejection — your application is on hold pending correction.
The most common causes:
- Passport photo does not meet requirements (wrong background colour, low resolution, face not fully visible)
- Data mismatch between the form and your passport (name spelling, date of birth)
- Passport scan is blurry, cropped, or has text that cannot be read
Contact VietnamVisaEasy — error identification is free. The team will tell you exactly what the portal has flagged and how to resolve it. If your flight is within 48 hours, tell the team your departure time immediately.
What Not To Do
When your visa is pending and you are worried, the most common mistake is submitting a second application. Here is why that makes things worse:
- The Vietnamese government system detects duplicate applications for the same passport
- Both applications are flagged and put on hold for 24–48 hours
- You now have two pending applications, neither of which can be processed until the hold clears
If you have already submitted a second application by mistake, contact VietnamVisaEasy immediately with both reference codes. The team can advise on the fastest path forward given both are now on hold.
