If your flight is closer than the normal 4–6 working days, you don't need a different kind of visa. You need the same e-visa, handled with priority. This page explains every speed we offer, what each one costs, how the Vietnamese working-day clock affects your result, and what to do if you already applied and are still waiting.

What is an urgent Vietnam visa?
It is a standard Vietnam e-visa with a faster processing time, not a separate visa type. The Immigration Department issues the same PDF, with the same code (EV), the same validity of up to 90 days and the same government fee. Only the waiting time changes.
Normal processing takes about 4–6 working days. Urgent processing moves your application to the front, so the result can come in one working day, a few working hours or, in an emergency, under an hour. For a full explanation of the e-visa itself, read our Vietnam e-visa guide.
An urgent visa is not a different visa. It is the same e-visa, handled first, and it is only as fast as the Immigration Department's working hours allow.
Which urgent option do I need for my flight?
Choose the slowest option that still arrives before you leave for the airport. Faster options cost more, and they don't make the visa any better. Count only Vietnamese working days and working hours when you compare.

All prices above include the USD 25 government fee for a single-entry e-visa. A multiple-entry e-visa adds USD 25 to any option, because the government fee is USD 50 instead of USD 25. How do Vietnamese working hours affect an urgent visa?
The processing clock only runs while the Immigration Department is working. That means Monday to Friday, in two sessions: a morning session from about 8:00 to 11:30 and an afternoon session from about 1:30 PM into the late afternoon, Vietnam time (GMT+7). Nights, the lunch break, weekends and public holidays do not count.
So "5 working hours" is not the same as "5 hours from now". If you order the 5-working-hour option at 10:00 on a Tuesday, the clock runs until the lunch break, stops, and starts again in the afternoon. An order placed at 9 PM your time may not start until the next Vietnamese morning.

Can I get a Vietnam visa on a weekend or public holiday?
Yes, but only through the weekend/holiday service, with the result by about 6 PM Vietnam time. The weekday options (1 working day, 5, 2.5 and 1.5 working hours, and 30–60 minutes) are not processed on Saturdays, Sundays or Vietnamese public holidays.
Apply as early in the day as you can. A late-afternoon order may not make that day's result. If your flight leaves on a Saturday evening or during Tet, message us first so we can tell you honestly whether it's still possible. Long holidays such as Tet (Lunar New Year) and the April 30–May 1 break close the offices for several days in a row, so plan around them. Our weekend urgent visa guide covers this in more detail.
What should I do if I already applied and I'm still waiting?
Don't submit a second application. Ask for your existing one to be sped up instead. A second application costs a second, non-refundable government fee and doesn't move you up the queue. Two open applications with the same passport can also cause confusion and delays.

What do I need to apply urgently?
The same items as a normal e-visa, ready before you start. On an urgent timeline there is no time to fix a blurry scan or a typo, so prepare everything first.

Which mistakes slow down an urgent application?
Most delays come from small data errors, not from the speed option you chose. Once a visa is issued with a mistake, it can't be edited, and a new application starts the clock again.
- ❌ Name or passport number typed from memory. Copy them from the passport, letter by letter.
- ❌ Wrong arrival date. If you leave Monday night and land Tuesday morning, your arrival date is Tuesday.
- ❌ Ordering a weekday option on a weekend. It won't start until the next working day.
- ❌ Applying twice instead of asking for a speed up.
- ⚠️ Leaving for the airport without the PDF saved offline. Airport Wi-Fi is unreliable; download it and print a copy if you can.

Do I need an urgent visa at all?
Maybe not. Some travellers can enter Vietnam without any visa for a limited time, and paying for urgent processing would be a waste.

What no agency can honestly promise
No agency controls the Immigration Department. We can't guarantee approval, and we can't process a visa while government offices are closed. Times such as "30–60 minutes" are what usually happens during working hours, not a promise for every case. Unusual cases, system outages or extra security checks can take longer. We also can't make an airline accept you without a valid visa. What we can do is tell you honestly, before you pay, whether your timeline is realistic.
