What the 2.5-Hour Tier Actually Means
The 2.5-Hour tier is a priority processing track at VietnamVisaEasy — not a different type of visa. The eVisa issued is identical to any standard Vietnam eVisa. What changes is the speed at which the application is submitted to and processed by Vietnam Immigration. The approved PDF is delivered by email within 2.5 hours of submission, provided the application is submitted before the daily cutoff and contains no errors.
Two things this tier cannot do: guarantee approval (that decision belongs to Vietnam Immigration regardless of tier or service used) and operate outside Vietnamese business hours Monday to Friday. After the 15:00 VNT cutoff, the 2.5-Hour window cannot be met — the 1-Hour tier (before 18:00 VNT) or Boarding Letter is the appropriate next step.
Pricing: 2.5-Hour vs Other Tiers
All prices include the USD 25 government fee. The right tier depends on how much time remains before check-in — paying for faster than needed is money spent unnecessarily.
| Tier | New app | Speed Up * | VNT cutoff | ET cutoff | AEST cutoff |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 5-Hour | USD 125 | USD 100 | 13:00 | 02:00 | 16:00 |
| 2.5-Hour | USD 155 | USD 130 | 15:00 | 04:00 | 18:00 |
| 1-Hour | USD 185 | USD 160 | 18:00 | 07:00 | 21:00 |
| Weekend | USD 230 | USD 210 | 15:00 Sat/Sun | 04:00 Sat/Sun | 18:00 Sat/Sun |
| Boarding Letter | WhatsApp 24/7 | 24/7 | 24/7 | 24/7 | |
* Speed Up: already submitted on evisa.gov.vn, USD 25 govt fee paid, deducted. Do not reapply — triggers 24–48h duplication hold. Multiple entry: add USD 25. BST 2.5-Hour cutoff: 08:00. IST: 19:30. Perth AWST: 15:00.
VNT = Vietnam Time (UTC+7). ET = Eastern (New York/Toronto). AEST = UTC+10 May–Sep, AEDT = UTC+11 Oct–Apr. BST = British Summer Time Mar–Oct.
Who Should Use the 2.5-Hour Tier
The 2.5-Hour tier sits between the 5-Hour and 1-Hour tiers. It is the right choice when check-in opens in roughly 2.5 to 5 hours and the 5-Hour window is too tight but paying for 1-Hour is unnecessary. The most common scenario: traveler at the departure airport with 3 to 4 hours until check-in, within Vietnamese business hours.
If the flight is a Saturday or Sunday departure and the application is submitted on Saturday or Sunday, none of the weekday tiers apply — only the Weekend batch (cutoff 15:00 VNT) or Boarding Letter after that. If the flight is on a Monday and the application is submitted Sunday evening, the Monday morning Vietnam business day will catch the 1-Day or 3-Day tier but not the same-day tiers.
Important: Urgent tiers run on Vietnamese business hours, not the traveler's local time. 15:00 VNT is 04:00 Eastern Time — meaning the 2.5-Hour cutoff for ET travelers falls in the early morning hours, not mid-afternoon. Check the VNT clock before submitting.
What the 2.5-Hour Tier Includes
Every agency application — including urgent tiers — includes document checking before submission. Entry port is verified against the booking itinerary. HEIC photos from iPhones are flagged before they trigger Amendment Required. Middle name completeness from the passport MRZ is confirmed. Entry date is cross-checked against the flight arrival segment, not the departure date.
These checks matter more on urgent tiers than on standard applications. A wrong entry port or HEIC photo on a standard 3–5 day application triggers Amendment Required and adds 1–2 days. The same error on a 2.5-Hour application makes it impossible to meet the guaranteed window. Document verification is not an add-on — it is part of what the urgent fee pays for.
Speed Up: Already Applied on evisa.gov.vn
If an application was already submitted directly on evisa.gov.vn and the USD 25 government fee was paid, Speed Up pricing applies with the government fee deducted: USD 130 for the 2.5-Hour track rather than USD 155.
The one critical rule: do not submit a second application. Two active applications for the same passport trigger a deduplication hold across both — neither proceeds for 24 to 48 hours. Contact WhatsApp +84 947 754 252 with the Reference Code from the original application, the registered email address, and the flight number. Speed Up can be arranged from there without reapplying.

Frequently Asked Questions
How much does the 2.5-Hour Vietnam eVisa cost?
USD 155 new application including the USD 25 government fee. Speed Up (already applied on evisa.gov.vn): USD 130. Multiple entry: add USD 25. No hidden fees.
What is the cutoff time for the 2.5-Hour tier?
Monday to Friday: 15:00 VNT (04:00 ET / 01:00 PT / 18:00 AEST / 08:00 BST / 19:30 IST). After this cutoff the 2.5-Hour tier cannot be fulfilled. Next option: 1-Hour tier before 18:00 VNT (07:00 ET / 21:00 AEST), or Boarding Letter via WhatsApp at any hour.
Who is the 2.5-Hour tier for?
Travelers already at the departure airport or with check-in opening in roughly 2.5 to 5 hours. If more than 5 hours remain, the 5-Hour tier at USD 125 is cheaper and equally effective. If less than 2.5 hours remain, use the 1-Hour tier or Boarding Letter.
Can I speed up an eVisa I already submitted?
Yes — Speed Up USD 130. Do not reapply. Contact WhatsApp with Reference Code (E260705...) + email + flight number. Two active applications trigger a 24–48h hold on both.
Is the 2.5-Hour approval guaranteed?
No agency can guarantee immigration approval — that decision belongs to Vietnam Immigration. What is guaranteed: if the eVisa is not delivered within the 2.5-hour window, the agency service fee is refunded. This applies to the processing timeframe, not the immigration outcome.
What is the 2.5-Hour cutoff in Australian time?
AEST (May–Sep): 18:00. AEDT (Oct–Apr, daylight saving): 19:00. Perth AWST (year-round): 15:00. The 1-Hour cutoff for Australian travelers is AEST 21:00 (AEDT 22:00) — still available after the 2.5-Hour window closes.
