Urgent Vietnam E-Visa Help for Australian Travellers

If you are an Australian traveller with a Vietnam e-visa problem and your flight is approaching, this page is your starting point. It covers the most common urgent situations — a visa stuck on Amendment Required, an application that has not arrived, an error on an approved visa, and cases where no application has been started yet.

The critical rule before anything else: do not submit a second application if one is already in progress. Duplicate applications trigger a 24–48 hour processing hold on both, which is the worst possible outcome when time is short.

Flight leaving today or tomorrow? Skip to your situation below and contact VietnamVisaEasy via WhatsApp immediately with your departure time.

Find Your Situation

Your situation Go to
Status shows Amendment Required Section 1
Visa still processing, flight is soon Section 2
Visa approved but details are wrong Section 3
No application started yet — flight is imminent Section 4
Need a visa on a weekend or public holiday Section 5

1. Status Shows Amendment Required

Amendment Required means the Vietnamese government portal has flagged a problem with your submitted application. Common causes include a passport photo that does not meet requirements (wrong background, low resolution, face not clearly visible) or a data mismatch between your form entries and your passport.

Your application is not rejected — it is on hold pending correction. The key steps are:

  • Check your status at evisa.gov.vn/e-visa/search using your reference code (E260705...) and passport number
  • Contact VietnamVisaEasy — error identification is free and the team will tell you exactly what needs correcting
  • Do not submit a new application — this creates a duplicate and triggers a 24–48 hour hold on both

If your flight is within 48 hours, tell the team your departure time immediately so they can fast-track the correction.

2. Visa Still Processing and Your Flight Is Soon

Standard processing through VietnamVisaEasy is 3 business days. If your flight is approaching and your application is still in progress:

  • Contact VietnamVisaEasy via WhatsApp with your departure time — the team can check your application's current position in the queue
  • A Speed Up escalation may be possible on your existing application — this does not require a second government fee of USD 25
  • Speed Up pricing: 3-Day USD 70, 2-Day USD 80, 1-Day USD 90, 5-Hour USD 100, 2.5-Hour USD 130, 1.5-Hour USD 160

Do not submit a new application. If you applied through evisa.gov.vn and also submit through VietnamVisaEasy, both applications go on hold for 24–48 hours.

3. Visa Approved but Details Are Wrong

If your e-visa has been approved but contains an error — wrong name, wrong passport number, wrong entry date, or wrong entry airport — you cannot board a flight with that visa. Airline staff check these details at check-in.

Common wrong-detail scenarios and what to do:

Error type Action
Name mismatch Contact VietnamVisaEasy — free error check, correction process initiated
Wrong passport number Contact VietnamVisaEasy immediately with correct passport number
Wrong entry date Contact VietnamVisaEasy — entry date must be your Vietnam arrival date
Wrong entry port Contact VietnamVisaEasy with your correct Vietnamese arrival airport

Error identification is always free. Do not submit a second application — correction on an existing application is the right path.

4. No Application Started Yet — Flight Is Imminent

If you have not yet applied and your flight is soon, choose an urgent processing tier based on how much time you have before check-in. All tiers below include the USD 25 government fee:

Time until flight Tier Fee (USD) AEDT cutoff
Tomorrow 1-Day 110 —
6+ hours away 5-Hour 125 18:00 AEDT
3–6 hours away 2.5-Hour 155 20:30 AEDT
2–3 hours away 1.5-Hour 185 20:30 AEDT

All tiers Mon–Fri only. AEST cutoffs are 1 hour earlier. Apply now.

5. Need a Visa on a Weekend or Public Holiday

On Saturdays, Sundays, and Vietnamese public holidays, only the Weekend / Holiday tier is available. The emergency tiers (1.5-Hour, 2.5-Hour) do not operate on weekends.

  • Weekend / Holiday fee: USD 230 (includes government fee)
  • Cutoff: Submit and pay before 15:00 VNT (19:00 AEDT / 18:00 AEST)
  • Available on Saturday, Sunday, and Vietnamese public holidays only

If your flight is on a Sunday evening and you missed the Saturday cutoff, contact VietnamVisaEasy via WhatsApp to discuss options.

SGN Pre-Arrival Declaration (Ho Chi Minh City)

From 15 April 2026, travellers arriving at Ho Chi Minh City (SGN / Tan Son Nhat) must complete a pre-arrival declaration at prearrival.immigration.gov.vn before boarding. This is mandatory and separate from your e-visa. Airlines may ask to see your QR code at check-in.
