Direct Answer
Applied too late, e-visa still pending, or just realized you need one before a close flight? Real tiers range from $90 (3-day) to $215 (the fastest, 30–60 minutes) — only during Vietnamese working hours. US airlines won't make an exception at the gate. Why This Catches US Travelers Off Guard
The standard e-visa timeline is 3–5 business days — but "I'll get it before my flight" is exactly the assumption that goes wrong. Weekends, US public holidays that don't align with Vietnam's calendar, or a small data mismatch can all silently push a straightforward application past your departure date.
- Applied 2–3 days before departure, no buffer for anything to go wrong
- e-Visa still shows "Processing" with the flight days away
- Assumed a confirmation email meant approval, rather than checking the actual status
The airline won't make an exception. Major US carriers — including United, Delta, and American Airlines — check for an approved Vietnam e-visa or approval letter at check-in as standard procedure, not a formality. A submitted-but-still-processing application isn't sufficient, and staff at the counter have no ability to override this.
What to Do, Depending on Your Situation
| Your Situation | Right Move |
|---|---|
| Haven't applied yet | Submit an urgent new application — pick the tier matching your remaining time |
| Already applied, still "Processing" | Don't reapply — request a speed-up on the existing file, cheaper than a new application since the government fee is already paid |

What No Agency Can Honestly Guarantee
No service, including us, can guarantee approval at any speed — that decision belongs to Vietnamese immigration alone. What we can honestly commit to: a refund of the processing fee if we miss the timeframe you paid for.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can US citizens get a Vietnam visa in 1 hour?
Yes — the fastest tier is 30-60 minutes, $215, during Vietnamese working hours. No provider can guarantee an exact time, since Vietnam Immigration issues final approval.
Do I need to reapply if my eVisa is delayed?
No — submitting a duplicate can create a hold delaying both. Use a speed-up on the existing application instead.
Will US airlines let me board without a valid visa?
No. United, Delta, American, and other major carriers check for an approved e-visa or approval letter at check-in as standard procedure and cannot override this at the counter.
Is urgent processing guaranteed?
No. It significantly improves speed, but approval always comes from Vietnam Immigration — a refund covers a missed processing timeframe, not the outcome.
My flight is today. What now?
Apply for the fastest tier now if you haven't applied, or request a speed-up if already submitted. Message WhatsApp if you're unsure which applies to you.
