Who Can Use Emergency Vietnam eVisa
The Vietnam eVisa is available to passport holders from over 190 countries. Emergency processing is an add-on to the standard eVisa — same visa, faster turnaround. You do not need a separate visa category or a special travel reason to qualify for emergency processing.
Note that the eVisa is required only for nationals of countries that do not hold a current bilateral visa-exemption agreement with Vietnam. UK and British passport holders, for example, receive 45 days visa-free and do not require an eVisa.

Speed Up: Escalating an Existing Application
Speed Up is not a new visa application. It is an escalation request placed on an application you have already submitted directly to the Vietnamese government portal. Because the original government submission stays in place, you do not pay the USD 25 government fee a second time.
To use Speed Up, you need three things:
- Your government reference code — format: E260705... (begins with E, followed by six digits and your nationality code). Do not confuse this with a payment receipt number.
- The email address you registered on the government portal.
- Your flight number to Vietnam.
Critical warning — duplicate applications: If you submit a second government application while your first is still in Processing or Amending status, both applications enter a 24–48 hour hold. During this hold neither application advances and processing stops entirely. Do not reapply. Use Speed Up to escalate the existing application.
