Quick Answers
The Most Common Canadian Questions — Fast
Do Canadians need a visa for Vietnam? ▼
Yes. All Canadian passports require an approved eVisa before boarding. No exemption, no walk-up option at Vietnamese airports.
How much does it cost? ▼
$90 (3-Day) • $105 (2-Day) • $110 (1-Day) • $125 (5-Hour) • $155 (2.5-Hour) • $185 (1-Hour). Weekend: $230 new / $210 speed-up. Multiple-entry +$25. All USD, all-in including $25 government fee. No airport cash.
When do I need to apply? ▼
For a flight tomorrow: apply tonight before 10pm ET (9pm CT / 8pm MT / 7pm PT). For same-night delivery: up to 4am ET (1am PT). After 4am ET: Boarding Letter 30 min, 24/7.
How long is it valid? ▼
30 or 90 days — you choose at application. Both options available in 2026. Validity starts from entry date in the application, not approval date. Single or multiple-entry (+$25).
Do I need a portrait photo? ▼
No. Passport bio-data page scan only. JPEG under 2MB. No portrait, no photo booth. iPhone users: convert HEIC to JPEG first.
What entry point do I select? ▼
The Vietnamese airport where you first clear immigration. NOT Toronto, Vancouver, or Seoul/Tokyo. Toronto/Vancouver via Seoul → HCMC = Tan Son Nhat (SGN). Any CA city via any hub → Hanoi = Noi Bai (HAN). Any CA city → Da Nang = Da Nang (DAD).
Why is my Vietnam arrival date different from my departure date? ▼
Flights from Canada cross the Pacific and the International Date Line. A Toronto departure Thursday evening typically arrives in Vietnam Saturday morning VNT — two calendar days later. Always check the Vietnam segment of your booking confirmation for the arrival date. Do NOT enter your Canadian departure date.
Does my middle name matter? ▼
Yes — critically. Enter ALL names exactly as shown on your passport bio-data page, including middle name(s). If the passport says JENNIFER MARIE TREMBLAY, the application must say the same. Using the name from your driver's licence or email account is the #1 error Canadian applicants make.
My eVisa is Processing and I fly tomorrow. What do I do? ▼
Do not reapply. WhatsApp +84 947 754 252 with Reference Code + ET departure time. Free: Path A (accelerate, no fee if correct) or Path B (corrected resubmission if error). Boarding Letter as bridge.
