Vietnam eVisa for Indian Citizens 2026 — Apply Online

Home › Vietnam eVisa › Vietnam eVisa for Indian Citizens

Indian passport holders need a Vietnam eVisa for every visit. As of 2026, India is not on Vietnam’s visa-exemption list — a valid eVisa is required regardless of the purpose or duration of your trip. The entire application is online — no embassy visit, no consulate, no Visa on Arrival.

Quick answer for Indian citizens

Visa required? Yes — eVisa required for every visit (as of 2026)
Standard cost USD 50 (3 working days)
Fastest Mon–Fri 1.5-Hour — USD 185 (cutoff 16:30 VNT = 15:00 IST)
Weekend option Weekend/Holiday — USD 230 (cutoff 15:00 VNT = 13:30 IST)
Validity 90 days

Requirements for Indian Citizens

  • Valid Indian passport — must not expire within 6 months of your Vietnam arrival date
  • Passport bio page scan (JPG or PNG, under 2 MB, all four corners visible, text legible)
  • Recent passport-style photo (white background, face clearly visible, no glasses)
  • Valid email address for eVisa delivery
  • Debit or credit card for payment
  • Name entered exactly as shown in the passport MRZ (bottom two lines)
  • Entry date = your Vietnam arrival date in DD/MM/YYYY format, not your India departure date
  • Entry port = first Vietnamese airport you land at (SGN, HAN, DAD, PQC, or CXR)

Children travelling with Indian parents each need a separate eVisa. Infants are not exempt. A child cannot be listed on a parent’s eVisa.

Important for Indian passport holders

Entry port — not BOM, DEL, or BLR: Mumbai (BOM), Delhi (DEL), and Bengaluru (BLR) are your Indian departure airports. The eVisa entry port must be the first Vietnamese airport you land at: SGN (Ho Chi Minh City / Tan Son Nhat), HAN (Hanoi / Noi Bai), DAD (Da Nang), PQC (Phu Quoc), or CXR (Nha Trang / Cam Ranh). If you connect through another country (e.g., Singapore, Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur), the entry port is still the Vietnamese airport, not the transit hub.

Arrival date — Vietnam date, not India date: Enter the date you land in Vietnam in DD/MM/YYYY format. If your flight departs Mumbai on Wednesday night and arrives Ho Chi Minh City on Thursday morning, your entry date is Thursday. Do not enter the date you leave India.

Plan around the Vietnamese calendar: Standard processing takes 3 working days counted in Vietnamese business days. Vietnamese public holidays and weekends are not counted — Indian public holidays (Diwali, Holi, Independence Day etc.) are not recognised as non-working days by the Vietnam immigration office. If you are applying close to your travel date, choose an express tier to avoid delays from Vietnamese holidays you may not be aware of.

Processing Cutoffs in Indian Time (IST = UTC+5:30)

Vietnam Time (VNT) is UTC+7. India Standard Time (IST) is UTC+5:30, making VNT = IST + 1:30. There is no daylight saving in India, so the offset is constant year-round.

Tier VNT Cutoff / Note IST Equivalent
Standard (3-day) — submit early Before 11:00 VNT recommended Before 09:30 IST
2.5-Hour 15:30 VNT 14:00 IST
1.5-Hour 16:30 VNT 15:00 IST
Emergency 30–60 min (Mon–Fri only) Throughout day — NOT weekends Throughout day (Mon–Fri)
Weekend/Holiday (Sat–Sun only) 15:00 VNT 13:30 IST

› Note: Indian public holidays that fall on a Vietnamese weekday do not make the Emergency tier unavailable. The Emergency tier is unavailable only on Vietnamese weekends and Vietnamese public holidays — check the Vietnamese calendar if you are unsure.

Frequently Asked Questions — Indian Citizens

Do Indian citizens need a visa for Vietnam?

Yes. As of 2026, Indian citizens are not visa-exempt and must obtain a Vietnam eVisa before every visit, regardless of travel purpose. The application is entirely online — no embassy visit, no physical submission.

How much does Vietnam eVisa cost for Indian citizens?

Standard processing (3 Vietnamese working days) costs USD 50, which includes the USD 25 government fee. Express tiers range from USD 90 (3-Day) to USD 185 (1.5-Hour, Mon–Fri). Weekend/Holiday tier is USD 230.

What is the fastest way for Indians to get a Vietnam eVisa?

On weekdays: the 1.5-Hour tier (USD 185) delivers within 90 minutes — submit before 16:30 VNT (15:00 IST). Need it even faster? The Emergency tier (USD 215, 30–60 minutes) is available Mon–Fri only. On weekends, the Weekend/Holiday tier (USD 230, submit before 15:00 VNT / 13:30 IST) is the only same-day option.

What entry port should Indian citizens select? (Not BOM/DEL/BLR — first Vietnamese airport)

Your Indian departure airport (BOM, DEL, BLR, MAA, CCU, HYD etc.) is not the entry port. Select the first Vietnamese airport where your flight lands: SGN (Ho Chi Minh City), HAN (Hanoi), DAD (Da Nang), PQC (Phu Quoc), or CXR (Nha Trang). If you transit through Singapore (SIN) or Bangkok (BKK), the entry port is still the Vietnamese airport, not SIN or BKK.

What is the 1.5-Hour eVisa cutoff in Indian time (IST)?

The 1.5-Hour tier cutoff is 16:30 VNT = 15:00 IST. India Standard Time is UTC+5:30 and does not change seasonally, so this cutoff is constant year-round. The tier is available Monday to Friday only — not on weekends or Vietnamese public holidays.

Can Indian citizens get Vietnam eVisa on a weekend? (Weekend/Holiday USD 230 only)

Yes, but only via the Weekend/Holiday tier at USD 230 — it is the only processing option on Saturdays and Sundays. Submit before 15:00 VNT (13:30 IST). Results typically arrive before 06:00 VNT (often 16:00–17:00 VNT the same day). Express weekday tiers and the Emergency tier are not available on weekends.

I already applied on evisa.gov.vn — how do I speed up from India?

Use our Speed Up service to escalate your existing government portal application. No second USD 25 government fee is required. Do not start a new application on evisa.gov.vn — duplicate submissions trigger a 24–48 hour hold. Contact us via the apply page or WhatsApp with your reference code (format: E260705…).
