How to Speed Up Vietnam Visa Approval in an Urgent Case: 12 Tips Ranked by What They Cost You

Home › Urgent Visa Services › Speed Up Vietnam Visa Approval

In an urgent case, most of the time you lose is not spent waiting for the government. It is lost to mistakes the form lets through, to the wrong day or hour in Vietnam, and to decisions made in a panic. These twelve tips are ranked by what ignoring them costs you, and the last sections say what to do when time has already run out.

Quick answer:

  • Most lost time comes from avoidable causes: the wrong entry port, the wrong photo format, a name mismatch, applying twice, and counting to the wrong deadline
  • Check the time and day in Vietnam first. More tiers are open in the morning, and none of the weekday tiers run on weekends
  • Count back from when check-in closes, not from departure, and keep at least 30 minutes of margin
  • Apply once. If a file is stuck, correct it or speed it up
  • Fastest tier: 30–60 minutes, $215, but no tier guarantees approval or an exact time

The Twelve Tips at a Glance

Impact is about what happens if you ignore the tip, not about how many minutes it saves. Highlighted rows are the ones that most often stop a file or cost a flight.

The Tips, One by One

1. Start Vietnam’s clock, not yours

Before anything else, check the time and the day of the week in Vietnam. On a weekday before 11:00 every tier is open. By mid-afternoon only the fastest remain, and on a Saturday none of the weekday tiers run at all. Every hour you wait removes an option, which is why the same traveler can have five choices in the morning and one by the evening. Search “current time in Vietnam” and read both the clock and the day.

2. Work backwards from check-in, not departure

Your e-visa has to be in hand before check-in closes, and many airlines close international check-in 45 to 60 minutes before departure. Count back from that moment, subtract the delivery time, and subtract a margin. The result is the latest moment you can submit. Check your own airline’s rule rather than assuming.

3. Enter the airport where you land, never the transit hub

The form accepts any airport code. If you list SIN, ICN, NRT, BKK, DXB or DOH because you connect there, review flags it later and processing stops, often without a clear email. Use the Vietnamese airport on the final leg of your booking, such as SGN, HAN or DAD.

4. Use the day you land as the entry date

The entry date is the day you arrive in Vietnam, not the day you leave home. A flight that leaves the US or Canada on Thursday night usually lands on Saturday. Read the arrival line of the Vietnam leg on your booking.

5. Send a genuine JPEG

A phone’s default HEIC format can stop a file. On iPhone set Settings, Camera, Formats to Most Compatible, or export the photo as a JPEG. Use a white background and a plain portrait.

6. Copy your name from the machine-readable zone

Compare your entry with the two lines of characters at the bottom of the passport data page. A middle name that appears there but was left out of the form is the most common mismatch.

7. Scan the data page flat, with no glare

Glare or an angled photo over the bottom two lines can make them unreadable at review. Photograph the page flat, in even light, with all four corners visible.

8. Apply once

Two active applications under one passport can trigger a hold of a day or two on both, which is usually longer than you have. If the first file is stuck, correct it or speed it up. Do not start another.

9. Match the tier to your window, with margin

Pick the tier whose delivery time is at least 30 minutes shorter than your window. Do not buy the fastest tier by default, and do not buy speed to rescue a file you already suspect has a problem. Speed cannot fix an error.

10. Read the live status, not the email

The confirmation email shows the status at the moment you submitted and never updates. Only the live status page at evisa.gov.vn/e-visa/search and the approved PDF count. If it says Amendment Required, something needs correcting.

11. Send everything in one message

Message support once with: your passport data page, your portrait photo, the day you land and the airport, your flight number and departure time, and the email for delivery. If you already applied, add the reference code and registered email. Scattered messages cost minutes you may not have.

12. Decide your plan B before you need it

Know what a boarding letter can and cannot do, what the weekend batch is, and what changing your ticket would cost. Decide at home, with the clock in front of you, not at the check-in desk.

A Ten-Minute Routine

When time is short, order matters more than effort. This sequence takes about ten minutes if your documents are at hand:

  1. Minutes 0 to 2: check the time and day in Vietnam, and which tiers are still open.
  2. Minutes 2 to 4: work out when check-in closes and which tier fits your window, with margin.
  3. Minutes 4 to 8: compare your documents: name against the machine-readable zone, the arrival airport and date from your booking, the photo as a JPEG, a flat scan.
  4. Minutes 8 to 10: send one complete message to support, then choose the tier and pay.

Myths That Waste Time

MythWhat actually happens
Paying for the fastest tier makes up for a mistakeSpeed works on a clean file. A file that stops on an error has nothing left for speed to do, and the clock restarts after a correction
Submitting again will push it throughA duplicate can hold both files for a day or two
The confirmation email means I am approvedIt is a snapshot from submission. Only the live status and the approved PDF count
A fast tier guarantees approval or an exact timeNo agency can promise either. The decision and its timing belong to Vietnamese immigration

When the Tips Are Not Enough

If it is past the weekday cutoffs, on a weekend, or on a Vietnamese public holiday, no weekday tier can help. The weekend batch ($230 new, $210 to speed up an existing application, cutoff 15:00 Vietnam time) gives a real e-visa. A boarding letter can be issued at any time as a bridge.

About the boarding letter: it is a letter from us confirming that your e-visa application is in process. It is not a visa, and whether an airline accepts it is the airline’s decision, so we cannot guarantee it. Your approved e-visa is still needed at Vietnamese immigration. See what a boarding letter can and cannot do.

What No Agency Can Honestly Guarantee

No agency can guarantee that Vietnamese immigration will approve you, or how fast. These tips remove the avoidable causes of delay. They do not change the government’s decision.

Our refund policy: 100% refund if we cannot complete your visa, or if we do not complete it within the timeframe we committed to. Read the conditions in our Terms & Conditions, and confirm the price, the time and the refund in writing on WhatsApp before you pay. No agency controls Vietnamese immigration’s decision or timing.

Prices

Prices are in USD, include the $25 government fee and are for single entry. Multiple entry adds $25. Speed Up applies when you already submitted on evisa.gov.vn and paid the government fee.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the fastest way to get a Vietnam visa approved?

Submit a clean file early on a weekday in Vietnam time, on the tier that fits your window. The fastest tier targets 30–60 minutes ($215), but a clean file matters more than the tier, because an error stops processing whatever you paid.

Does applying earlier in the day help?

Yes. Each weekday tier has a cutoff, so more tiers are open in the morning in Vietnam than in the afternoon. After the cutoffs, only the fastest tiers remain, and on weekends none of the weekday tiers run.

Why is my application stuck on Processing?

Often it is simply waiting. But some causes are silent: a transit hub entered as the entry port, a photo in the wrong format, a name that does not match the machine-readable zone, or an unreadable scan. Check the live status and compare those four items.

Can I speed things up after I have submitted?

Yes, by asking for a speed-up of the existing file, from $70. Do not submit a new application, because a duplicate can hold both.

Does paying more improve my chance of approval?

No. Every tier goes through the same review. Speed buys priority handling, not a more favorable decision.

I noticed a mistake after submitting. What should I do?

Tell support before you change anything yourself, and say which field is wrong. A correction can restart the clock, so the order of actions matters when time is short.

What is the refund policy?

100% refund if we cannot complete your visa, or if we do not complete it within the timeframe we committed to. Confirm the price, the time and the refund in writing on WhatsApp before you pay.
