Vietnam Urgent Visa Processing (2026)
By VietnamVisaEasy Visa Team · 2026-07-27 · Updated 2026-11-08

Vietnam urgent visa processing is a faster way to get the same official e-visa. Your application still goes to Vietnam's Immigration Department and is still checked in the usual way. What changes is the place in the queue and the time you get the result. This guide explains each speed, the cutoffs in Vietnam time, and what to do when an application you already filed is moving too slowly.
How does Vietnam urgent visa processing work?
Your file is prepared, checked and submitted for priority handling. Immigration works Monday to Friday, 08:00–11:30 and 13:30–18:30 Vietnam time (GMT+7). Every weekday speed fits inside those hours, so the clock only runs while the offices are open.
That has 2 practical effects:
- A file sent at 19:00 on a Tuesday starts on Wednesday morning, whatever speed you choose.
- A file sent on Friday evening starts on Monday morning, unless you use the weekend service.
Public holidays work like weekends. The e-visa you receive is identical to a normal one, valid for up to 90 days with single or multiple entry.
Which processing speeds are available?
There are 10 speeds, from 4–6 working days down to 30–60 minutes. Choose by the time you have before check-in, not by the time before landing.
| Speed | When the result arrives | Total price |
|---|---|---|
| Normal | 4–6 working days | US$50 |
| 4 working days | 18:00 on the 4th working day | US$70 |
| 3 working days | 18:00 on the 3rd working day | US$90 |
| 2 working days | 18:00 on the 2nd working day | US$100 |
| 1 working day | 18:00 the same day if sent before 11:00 | US$110 |
| 5 working hours | 12:00 if sent before 08:00, 18:00 if sent before 15:00 | US$125 |
| 2.5 hours | About 3 working hours after submission | US$155 |
| 1.5 hours | About 2 working hours after submission | US$185 |
| 30–60 minutes | Within the same working session | US$215 |
| Weekend and holiday | 18:00 the same day if sent before 15:00 | US$230 |
Prices include the government fee for a single-entry e-visa. A multiple-entry e-visa adds US$25. Our Vietnam visa cost guide explains the full price list.
What are the cutoff times in Vietnam time?
Each speed has its own latest submission time. Miss it, and the result moves to the next session or the next working day.
- 1 working day: send before 11:00 for a result at 18:00 the same day.
- 5 working hours: send before 08:00 for 12:00, or before 15:00 for 18:00.
- 2.5 hours: morning files sent before 09:00 are ready at 11:00, before 10:00 at 12:00, and before 13:30 at 15:30. Afternoon files take about 3 hours, with a last result at 18:30. From 16:00, the result moves to 11:00 the next working day.
- 1.5 hours: send before 10:30 for a morning result, or before 17:00 for an afternoon result.
- 30–60 minutes: send before 11:00 in the morning session or before 18:00 in the afternoon session.
Convert these times to your own time zone before you choose. Our same-day visa guide shows the cutoffs for common time zones.
What happens on weekends and public holidays?
A separate weekend and holiday service takes over. It opens at 17:00 on the last working day before the break. Files sent before 15:00 on a weekend or holiday day get a result at 18:00 that day. On the last day of the break, the result comes at 17:00.
Normal and weekday urgent speeds pause until the next working morning. If your flight leaves on Saturday or Sunday, the weekend Vietnam visa guide explains the timing in detail.
What if your application is already processing?
Do not apply again. Speed up the file you already have. A second application for the same passport means a second government fee and can confuse the check-in desk.
A speed-up moves your existing application to a faster track. You keep your original government payment, so the price is lower than a new urgent e-visa. To start, send:
- Your application code from evisa.gov.vn, which starts with E.
- The email address you used for the application.
- Your flight date and arrival airport in Vietnam.
Before you pay for speed, check the status page. Some files wait because the portal asked for a correction, such as a new photo. Our stuck e-visa guide explains each status and the same-day speed-up guide explains how a speed-up works.
What do you need for an urgent application?
The same documents as a normal e-visa, ready before you start. Delays at this speed usually come from missing or unclear files, not from Immigration.
- A passport valid for at least 6 months from your arrival date.
- A clear photo of the passport data page, with both machine-readable lines visible.
- A recent portrait photo on a plain background, without glasses.
- Your arrival date, entry airport or border gate, and first address in Vietnam.
Enter every name exactly as printed in the passport, including middle names, and use your arrival date in Vietnam, not your departure date from home. The official requirements are listed on the Vietnam e-visa portal.
Which speed should you choose?
Pick the slowest speed that still gives you the e-visa before check-in. Faster is not safer if the result would come during the night anyway.
| Time before check-in | Sensible choice |
|---|---|
| 5 working days or more | Normal or 4 working days |
| 2–3 working days | 2 or 3 working days |
| Tomorrow | 1 working day, sent before 11:00 |
| Later today | 5 working hours, 2.5 hours or 1.5 hours |
| Within about 1 hour, during office hours | 30–60 minutes |
| Weekend or holiday | Weekend and holiday service |
If you are unsure, send your flight time and passport nationality to our team before you pay.
Frequently asked questions
Is an urgent Vietnam e-visa a different visa?
No. It is the same official e-visa issued by Vietnam's Immigration Department. Only the handling time changes.
Does urgent processing work at night or on weekends?
Weekday speeds follow government working hours. Outside them, the weekend and holiday service is the option, and normal speeds restart on the next working morning.
I already applied and it is still processing. Should I apply again?
No. A second file for the same passport can slow both. Ask for a speed-up of the existing application instead.
What is the latest time to submit for a same-day result?
It depends on the speed. The 1-day speed needs your file before 11:00 Vietnam time, while the 30–60 minute speed accepts files until 18:00.
Need your visa today?
Urgent options from 30–60 minutes, also on weekends & holidays.
