Direct answer
The entry port on your Vietnam eVisa must always be the Vietnamese airport where your flight lands — never the transit hub. Flying via SIN, ICN, NRT, DOH, or DXB does not change this rule.
Correct ports: SGN (Ho Chi Minh City) • HAN (Hanoi) • DAD (Da Nang) • PQC (Phu Quoc) • CXR (Nha Trang). Wrong port = silent Amendment Required, processing stops, clock resets to Day 1.
How to find the correct port: open booking confirmation → Vietnam-landing flight segment → read "Arrives" IATA code. Apply — port verified before submission

Why the Transit Hub Is Never the Entry Port
The Vietnam eVisa entry port field asks where you will enter Vietnam — not where your journey starts or stops along the way. Transit airports (Singapore, Seoul, Tokyo, Dubai, Doha, Frankfurt) are not in Vietnam. They have no role in the eVisa. The only airport that matters is the Vietnamese airport where the plane lands.
The evisa.gov.vn portal accepts all IATA codes including transit hubs without flagging them as wrong. This is why the error is so common — there is no warning at submission. Immigration review catches the mismatch days later and triggers Amendment Required with no email notification. Processing stops completely.
Why this error is so easy to make
Most travelers open their booking confirmation and see the first departure airport at the top — SYD, LAX, YYZ, LHR. They assume that is the relevant airport. Others see Singapore or Seoul on the itinerary and logically think that is where they "transit through" to Vietnam. Neither is correct. The entry port is always the last airport listed before "Arrives: Vietnam."

How to Find the Correct Entry Port in Your Booking
| 1 | Open booking confirmation | Email from airline, Expedia, Google Flights, or any booking platform. Look for the full flight itinerary. |
| 2 | Find the Vietnam-landing segment | Scroll to the last flight segment before arriving in Vietnam. This is the segment that says "Arrives: [date] [Vietnamese city]." |
| 3 | Read the "Arrives" IATA code | The 3-letter airport code next to "Arrives" in the Vietnam-landing segment. SGN, HAN, DAD, PQC, or CXR. That is the entry port. |
| ✗ | Never use the Departs column | The transit airport appears in the "Departs" column of the next segment. That is not the entry port. |
