Vietnam Visa for Indian Citizens 2026: Requirements, Cost, IST Cutoffs, and Routing from BOM, DEL, and BLR

VietnamVisaEasy • Updated July 21, 2026 • Processing experience since 2010 • Written for Indian travelers

Direct answer

Indian citizens require a Vietnam eVisa for every visit. No visa on arrival in 2026. Government eVisa: USD 25 single entry (~INR 2,100), USD 50 multiple. Standard processing 3 to 5 Vietnamese business days. 30-day and 90-day same price — always choose 90 days.

Indian routes via Singapore (SIN): entry port must be SGN (HCMC), HAN (Hanoi), or DAD (Da Nang) — never SIN. Wrong port = silent Amendment Required, clock reset, no email.

Urgent: USD 90 (3-Day) to USD 185 (1-Hour before 23:30 IST). Already applied: Speed Up from USD 65 — do not reapply.

IST = Indian Standard Time (UTC+5:30). Vietnam Time (VNT) = IST +1:30 hours. Apply at least 10 Vietnamese business days before departure. No INR payment on evisa.gov.vn — USD card required.

The SIN Entry Port Problem: Most Common Error for Indian Travelers

Nearly all Indian flights to Vietnam transit through Singapore Changi Airport (SIN). IndiGo, Air India, Singapore Airlines, and Vistara code-shares all route through SIN before landing at a Vietnamese airport. When filling the eVisa application, the entry port field must contain the Vietnamese airport where the plane physically lands — not Singapore.

The evisa.gov.vn portal accepts SIN as a valid IATA code and processes payment without flagging it. The error is caught later during government review, triggering Amendment Required with no email notification. This stops the application and resets the clock to Day 1 from correction — the most common cause of last-minute urgency for Indian travelers.

Indian departure route Wrong port Correct port Destination
BOM / DEL / BLR via Singapore → Ho Chi Minh City SIN SGN Ho Chi Minh City (Tan Son Nhat)
BOM / DEL / MAA via Singapore → Hanoi SIN HAN Hanoi (Noi Bai)
BLR / MAA / CCU via Singapore → Da Nang SIN DAD Da Nang International
Any Indian city via Singapore → Phu Quoc SIN PQC Phu Quoc International

Rule: open the booking confirmation. Find the flight segment where "Arrives" shows a Vietnamese city. That IATA code is the entry port. VietnamVisaEasy verifies the entry port before every agency-assisted submission.
