Vietnam Business Visa Cost 2026: E-Visa vs DN1 and DN2 Fees

Last updated: November 6, 2026

Direct answer: For a short business trip, a Vietnam e-visa costs USD 25 (single entry) or USD 50 (multiple entry) in government fees, for up to 90 days. Through Vietnam Visa Easy the total starts at USD 50 or USD 75. A sponsored DN1 or DN2 visa costs USD 25–135 in government fees, plus whatever your sponsor or agent charges.

The word "business visa" covers two different products with very different costs. This guide shows what each one costs, what the fee buys, and which one your trip needs, so you don't pay for a sponsored visa you can do without.

Do I need a business visa or is an e-visa enough?

For meetings, trade fairs and site visits of up to 90 days, an e-visa is usually enough. The e-visa (code EV) is open to all nationalities and needs no sponsor. A DN visa makes sense when a Vietnamese company will sponsor you and you need a stay longer than 90 days.

How much is the government fee for a business e-visa?

USD 25 for single entry and USD 50 for multiple entry. These amounts are in the fee table of Circular 28/2026/TT-BTC, in force since April 1, 2026. The fee is the same for a tourist and a business traveller, and the same for 30 days or 90 days.

Government fees are not returned if the application is refused. You can apply yourself on the official portal, evisa.gov.vn, and pay only this fee. Vietnam Visa Easy is a private agency and is not part of the Vietnamese government.

What does a business e-visa cost through Vietnam Visa Easy?

From USD 50 single entry or USD 75 multiple entry, government fee included. The price depends only on how fast you need it. There is one payment and no second bill.

How much does a DN1 or DN2 visa cost?

The government fee is USD 25–135, depending on entries and validity. DN visas can be issued for up to 12 months, so the higher bands in the fee tables don't apply to them.

Embassy and consulate fees have followed Circular 163/2026/TT-BTC since November 1, 2026. The embassy figures above come from Vietnamese financial press reports of that circular, so confirm the amount with the mission handling your case.

⚠️ The government fee is not the full DN price. A DN visa needs a sponsoring organisation in Vietnam, and neither circular sets what a sponsor or agent charges for that work. Ask for a written quote that separates the government fee from everything else.

What is the difference between DN1 and DN2?

DN1 is for working with a Vietnamese company; DN2 is for offering services or setting up a commercial presence under international treaties. Many websites blur these two with other categories, which can send you to the wrong application.

  • ✅ DN1: foreigners working with Vietnamese enterprises or organisations that have legal status.
  • ✅ DN2: foreigners offering services, establishing a commercial presence or doing other activities under treaties Vietnam has joined.
  • ➖ Not DN: investors use ĐT1–ĐT4, licensed foreign lawyers use LS, and representative office or NGO staff use NN codes.

Choose the visa by what you will do in Vietnam, not by how official the name sounds. For a week of meetings, the cheapest option is usually the right one.

Does a Vietnam business visa let me work?

No. Neither an e-visa nor a DN visa replaces a work permit. Taking a job with a Vietnamese employer normally requires a work permit, or a confirmed exemption, and an LĐ1 or LĐ2 visa sponsored by the employer.

Remote work for a foreign employer is a separate question, covered in our Vietnam digital nomad visa guide.

Should a business traveller pay for multiple entry?

Pay the extra USD 25 only if you will leave Vietnam and come back on the same visa. A single-entry e-visa ends when you exit, even if days remain. A connecting flight on the way to Vietnam doesn't use up an entry, and neither does arriving through a land border.

The dates on a multiple-entry e-visa are fixed and don't restart when you leave. Our multiple-entry visa guide explains how re-entry works.

💡 Tip: Business trips often run over. Ask for a validity period that ends a few days after your planned flight home, because the government fee is the same for a shorter or longer e-visa.

What do I need to apply for a business e-visa?

The same items as any e-visa: a passport page image, a photo and your trip details. Your passport should be valid for at least 6 months. You state your purpose of entry on the form, and an invitation letter is not normally part of the e-visa application.

  • ✅ A clear colour image of your passport data page
  • ✅ A portrait photo, following our Vietnam visa photo guide
  • ✅ Your arrival date and exit date
  • ✅ Your entry gate, chosen from the official ports of entry
  • ✅ A hotel or company address in Vietnam

Keep your meeting schedule and hotel details on your phone for the trip. Some air travellers should also file the free pre-arrival form. Official sources describe it differently, so our guide sets out who says what.

Can I extend a business visa in Vietnam?

Not by yourself. There is no self-service extension for an e-visa, and requests made inside Vietnam go through a qualifying sponsor. If your trip runs long, the usual route is to leave before the visa ends and return on a new one.

A DN visa holder should ask the sponsoring company to handle any extension before the visa ends. Staying past the last day brings fines, as our Vietnam visa extension guide explains.

Need your e-visa? A standard Vietnam e-visa costs USD 50 through our service (4–6 working days). If you fly sooner, our urgent service can get an approved e-visa in as little as 30–60 minutes during working hours.

Apply for a Vietnam e-visa

What no agency can honestly promise

No agency can guarantee that an application will be approved, because the decision belongs to the Immigration Department. No agency can make a visa cover work that its purpose doesn't allow, or promise what an officer will ask at the border. We can check your details before submission, tell you the full price up front and follow your application closely.
