Vietnam Multiple Entry Visa 2026 — eVisa for Multiple Visits Explained

A Vietnam multiple-entry eVisa lets you enter and exit Vietnam as many times as you like within the 90-day validity window. It costs USD 25 more than any standard tier — so standard multiple-entry starts at USD 75, emergency multiple-entry at USD 240. This guide covers who needs it, what it costs, how it compares to single entry, and whether the exemption or eVisa is the better route for your itinerary.

Quick answer — multiple-entry eVisa

Multiple-entry adds USD 25 to any processing tier. Standard multiple-entry: USD 75. 90-day validity, unlimited entries. Select at application time — cannot be added to an existing single-entry eVisa.

Who Needs a Multiple-Entry eVisa?

You need multiple entry if you plan to leave Vietnam and return during the same eVisa validity period. Common scenarios: traveling to Cambodia or Laos by land border and returning to Vietnam, flying to Bangkok mid-trip and coming back, or making multiple short Vietnam visits during a regional tour.

A single-entry eVisa is cancelled the moment you exit Vietnam for the first time. If you return without a new visa or exemption, you will be refused entry. Multiple-entry removes this risk for USD 25 more than the single-entry price.

If your trip involves multiple short visits that are each under 45 days, and your nationality qualifies for the bilateral visa exemption (South Korean, Japanese, and several other nationalities are exempt for 45 days), you may be able to use the exemption for each visit at no cost. The eVisa is more convenient when you want documented approval before boarding or plan more than two entries.

Multiple-Entry Pricing — All Tiers

USD 25 multiple-entry fee added to the standard processing cost. All prices include the USD 25 Vietnamese government fee.

Speed Up (escalates existing government portal application, no second government fee): 3-Day USD 65 · 1-Day USD 85 · 5-Hour USD 100 · 2.5-Hour USD 110 · 1.5-Hour USD 160 · Weekend USD 210. Multiple-entry upgrade can be requested during Speed Up — contact support for pricing.

Validity — 30 Days vs 90 Days

You choose validity at application time: 30 days or 90 days, same price. For multiple-entry travelers, 90-day validity is almost always the right choice. It gives you the full flexibility to enter, exit, and re-enter Vietnam across a longer trip without applying again.

The validity start date is your chosen Vietnam arrival date — not the date the eVisa is issued. If you choose a start date that is 30 days before your first planned entry, the clock starts then. Plan your start date based on your first Vietnam arrival, not your application date.

Single Entry vs Multiple Entry — Which to Choose?

Choose single entry if: your trip is a straightforward one-way arrival to Vietnam with no planned exits, or if you are only transiting through one Vietnamese city before flying home. Single entry is USD 25 cheaper and appropriate for most straightforward travel.

Choose multiple entry if: you plan to visit Cambodia, Laos, or another neighbouring country and return to Vietnam; you have a multi-city regional itinerary that loops back through Vietnam; you are unsure whether your plans might involve a side trip; or your original eVisa is single-entry and has already been used. USD 25 is cheap insurance against losing your eVisa on an unplanned border crossing.

You cannot upgrade a single-entry eVisa to multiple-entry after it is issued. If you have an approved single-entry eVisa and realise you need multiple entry, apply for a new eVisa. Contact WhatsApp +84 947 754 252 before starting a new application to confirm the correct approach — duplicate submissions create administrative complications.

How to Apply for Multiple-Entry eVisa

  1. Go to vietnamvisaeasy.com/apply and select your processing tier.
  2. At the entry type field, select Multiple Entry. The USD 25 surcharge is added automatically.
  3. At the validity field, select 90 days (recommended for multiple-entry travelers).
  4. Upload passport scan and photo; enter your Vietnam arrival date, entry airport, and accommodation address.
  5. Pay and receive confirmation. Approved eVisa arrives by email as a PDF — shows your entry type as "Multiple."

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does a Vietnam multiple-entry eVisa cost?
Multiple entry adds USD 25 to any tier. Standard multiple-entry USD 75 · 3-Day USD 115 · 1-Day USD 135 · 5-Hour USD 150 · 2.5-Hour USD 180 · 1.5-Hour USD 210 · Weekend USD 255 · Emergency 30-60 min USD 240. All include the USD 25 government fee.
Can I upgrade single entry to multiple entry?
No — single and multiple entry are selected at application time and cannot be changed after issue. If you need to change, apply for a new eVisa. Contact WhatsApp +84 947 754 252 before starting a new application to avoid duplicate submission issues.
What is the validity of a Vietnam multiple-entry eVisa?
30 or 90 days — your choice at application, same price. 90 days is recommended for multiple-entry. Validity starts on your chosen Vietnam arrival date, not the application date.
How many times can I enter Vietnam with a multiple-entry eVisa?
Unlimited entries within the validity window. There is no per-entry cap. Each stay can be up to the eVisa's maximum permitted duration per entry (typically up to 90 days per the eVisa conditions).
Do I need a multiple-entry eVisa to visit Cambodia and return to Vietnam?
Yes. Exiting Vietnam — even briefly — uses your single-entry eVisa. When you return, you need either a multiple-entry eVisa or a new single-entry eVisa. Multiple entry at USD 25 extra is more cost-effective if re-entry is planned.
What if my children need Vietnam eVisas?
Children must have their own separate Vietnam eVisa. They cannot be included on a parent's eVisa. Attaching a child to a parent's application risks invalidating both. Apply separately for each child at the same tier and processing speed.
