Do Brazilians need an urgent Vietnam visa?
Brazilians need a visa for every trip; urgent is only about speed. Brazil is not on Vietnam's visa exemption list. The e-visa is valid for up to 90 days, with single or multiple entry, and arrives as a PDF.

Why must the visa be ready before you leave Brazil?
Because the first airline checks your final destination. At Guarulhos, Galeão or any other Brazilian airport, the check-in desk verifies that you can enter Vietnam before issuing boarding passes for the whole journey. A visa that arrives during your layover in Dubai is too late if you were never allowed to board in São Paulo.
Plan for the e-visa to be approved before your first check-in, with a margin for questions. If your first flight leaves Brazil in the afternoon, the Vietnamese working night before is your last full chance.

Which mistakes delay Brazilian applications?
Route, name and date errors.
- Transit hub as entry port. If you fly via Dubai, Doha, Frankfurt or Paris, the entry port is still the Vietnamese airport where you land.
- Arrival date. Long journeys land 1 or 2 days after departure. Use the landing date in Vietnam.
- Compound names. Brazilian names often have several parts. Enter them exactly as in the passport's machine-readable lines, without accents.
- Photo. White background, no glasses, saved as JPG.

What if your e-visa is already pending?
Do not cancel or apply again. A second application means a second government fee and two records for one passport. Ask for a speed-up of the existing file before the next cutoff. Check the status on the official e-visa portal first; if it asks for an update, fix that item immediately.

How long can Brazilians stay on the e-visa?
Up to 90 days, with the dates you choose. The government fee is the same for 30 or 90 days, so ask for the longer period if your plans may change. You can enter on the start date or any day after it and must leave by the end date. Single entry ends when you leave Vietnam; choose multiple entry if you plan to visit Cambodia, Laos or Thailand and come back.
Can Brazilians get a visa on arrival instead?
Not without an approval letter arranged in advance. A visa on arrival is not a walk-up service: the airline in Brazil checks the approval letter at check-in, and the stamping fee is paid in cash in Vietnam after a long journey.
