How to Speed Up Vietnam eVisa If You Already Applied — USA Guide 2026
VietnamVisaEasy • Updated July 15, 2026 • Processing experience since 2010
Already applied on evisa.gov.vn and flight is approaching?
Do not reapply. Speed Up escalates your existing application — $25 already paid is deducted. ET cutoffs Mon–Fri: 1-Hour $160 by 07:00 ET. After 07:00 ET or weekend: Boarding Letter in 30 min via WhatsApp +84 947 754 252.
You applied for a Vietnam eVisa on evisa.gov.vn, paid the $25 government fee, and your status is stuck on "In Process." Your flight from New York, Los Angeles, or another US city is in 24 to 72 hours. The instinct is to apply again — but that is the worst thing you can do. A second application creates two Reference Numbers in the Vietnamese immigration system, triggering an automatic deduplication hold of 24 to 48 hours on both. Your delay doubles.
The correct action is Speed Up. It works with the application already registered on evisa.gov.vn, escalates its priority within the immigration queue, and delivers the approved eVisa PDF to your email within the tier timeframe you select. The $25 you already paid is deducted from the Speed Up cost — no new government fee is charged.
How Speed Up Works
Vietnamese immigration processes eVisa applications in batches. Standard processing means your application sits in a general queue for 3–5 business days. Speed Up moves your existing Reference Number to a priority queue where immigration officers review it ahead of the standard batch.
There are two paths depending on your current application status when the team checks it on evisa.gov.vn:
|
Path A — Application correct Data matches passport, photo accepted, entry port correct. Application is simply in the standard queue. Free priority escalation — approximately 60 min during VNT hours (08:00–18:00 VNT = 20:00–07:00 ET). No extra charge beyond the Speed Up tier. |
Path B — Amendment Required Immigration flagged an error — HEIC photo, missing middle name, wrong entry port (SIN instead of SGN), date in MM/DD format. No email is sent. Correction made first, then priority-resubmitted. Correction is free. Clock resets to Day 1 — choose a faster tier. |
What You Need to Send
Three items only. No passport re-upload, no new photo, no additional documents.
| 1 | Reference Code | Format E260705USA... — in the post-payment confirmation email from evisa.gov.vn. Not the Application Number from form filling. Check spam for "evisa.gov.vn" if not found. |
| 2 | Registered email | The exact email used during the evisa.gov.vn application — including any typos that may have been made. Mention if a typo was entered and you cannot access that address. |
| 3 | Flight number | The flight number of your US-to-Vietnam route including layovers. Used to confirm time available and prioritise correctly. |
Send these to WhatsApp +84 947 754 252 or use the Speed Up option on the apply page.

Why You Should Not Reapply
When a US traveler reapplies while one application is already In Process, the immigration system detects two applications with the same passport number. Both are held in a deduplication review queue for 24 to 48 hours while immigration determines which is the legitimate submission. Neither application moves forward during this hold.
The $25 government fee on the second application is non-refundable. The deduplication hold typically outlasts the traveler's check-in window, resulting in a missed flight with two applications in limbo and $50 spent in government fees. Speed Up avoids all of this by working within the single Reference Number already registered, with the $25 already paid preserved as credit.
What Happens After the ET Cutoff
After 07:00 ET on weekdays, or any time on a weekend outside the Weekend Speed Up window, Vietnamese immigration is outside business hours. The Boarding Letter bridges this gap. It is a formal document on VietnamVisaEasy letterhead confirming the eVisa application is registered and in priority processing. Airlines accept it at check-in. The full eVisa PDF is then delivered before the flight lands in Vietnam — typically from 08:00 VNT the next business morning. This is used regularly for US travelers on red-eye departures from JFK, LAX, SFO, and ORD.
