Why Standard Processing Is Not Fast Enough in These Situations

Standard Vietnam eVisa processing through evisa.gov.vn is 3 to 5 Vietnamese business days — excluding weekends and public holidays. In peak season (June to August, December) this stretches to 6 to 9 calendar days. Additionally, any error in the application — HEIC photo from iPhone, wrong entry port, missing middle name — triggers a silent Amendment Required flag that pauses processing and resets the clock to Day 1 from correction, with no email notification.

Urgent processing bypasses the standard queue and moves the application into priority handling with Vietnamese immigration. VietnamVisaEasy has operated urgent processing channels since 2010 across thousands of last-minute applications. The processing clock starts from submission — not from when business hours begin. A 1-Hour application submitted at 17:30 VNT on a Friday is processed within that window if the cutoff (18:00 VNT) has not passed.

The Speed Up Path — Already Applied, Do Not Reapply

If the application was already submitted on evisa.gov.vn and paid, the correct action is Speed Up — not reapplying. Reapplying creates two applications with the same passport number, triggering an automatic deduplication review by Vietnamese immigration. Neither application can be approved until the review clears, which takes 24 to 48 hours. This turns a recoverable 60-minute situation into one where neither application resolves before a same-day flight.

To Speed Up: check live status first at evisa.gov.vn/e-visa/search with Reference Code (E260705...). Then contact WhatsApp +84 947 754 252 with:

Reference CodeFrom the post-payment email from evisa.gov.vn — format E260705USA... (not the Application Number from form-filling)
EmailEmail address registered on evisa.gov.vn during application
Flight numberThe flight number to Vietnam (not the connecting flight from a US or Australian airport)
Status (from portal)In Process = Speed Up immediately. Amendment Required = free Path B correction then priority resubmit. Approved = check name, entry port, date on the PDF.

Weekend Processing — How It Works

Vietnamese government immigration does not process eVisas on Saturday or Sunday. VietnamVisaEasy operates one dedicated batch per day on weekends by submitting applications through a weekend priority channel. This is not standard government processing — it is a separate arrangement available only through the agency.

The weekend batch cutoff is 15:00 VNT (04:00 ET / 01:00 PT / 18:00 AEST) on the day of the flight — Saturday or Sunday. Applications received before 15:00 VNT are processed in the batch with results delivered 16:00 to 18:00 VNT the same day. Applications received after 15:00 VNT: Boarding Letter in 30 minutes as check-in bridge, eVisa delivered before landing.

All other urgent tiers — 3-Day, 1-Day, 5-Hour, 2.5-Hour, 1-Hour — operate Monday to Friday Vietnamese business hours only. If a traveler needs a visa for next Monday and submits on Sunday: the earliest non-weekend tier available is 3-Day Monday morning.

The Boarding Letter — After All Cutoffs

After 18:00 VNT on weekdays, or after 15:00 VNT on weekends, eVisa processing cannot be completed before check-in closes. In these situations the Boarding Letter is the correct path.

The Boarding Letter is a formal document from VietnamVisaEasy on company letterhead confirming that a Vietnam eVisa application is registered in the Vietnamese immigration system and in priority processing. Issued via WhatsApp in approximately 30 minutes, available 24/7 including all weekends and public holidays. Present to the check-in supervisor — not the standard counter agent. Supervisors at Korean Air, Singapore Airlines, Vietnam Airlines, Qantas, and other carriers serving Vietnam accept the Boarding Letter and allow boarding. The approved eVisa PDF is then delivered by email before the flight lands in Vietnam.

What to Prepare for Any Urgent Application

1 Passport scan Full bio page, all text legible including MRZ. JPEG only. iPhone users: Settings → Camera → Formats → Most Compatible before scanning.
2 Portrait photo JPEG, white background, no glasses, neutral expression, face fills 70%+ of frame. WhatsApp camera auto-saves as JPEG.

Frequently asked questions

How fast can I get an urgent Vietnam eVisa?
Fastest: 1-Hour eVisa USD 185 (new) or USD 160 Speed Up, before 18:00 VNT Mon–Fri (07:00 ET / 04:00 PT / 21:00 AEST). After cutoffs: Boarding Letter in ~30 min, eVisa before landing. Weekend: USD 230 new / USD 210 Speed Up before 15:00 VNT Sat/Sun.
Can I get a same-day Vietnam eVisa on a weekend?
Yes. One batch per day Saturday and Sunday. Cutoff 15:00 VNT (04:00 ET / 18:00 AEST Sat/Sun). Results 16:00–18:00 VNT. USD 230 new, USD 210 Speed Up. After 15:00 VNT: Boarding Letter 30 min, eVisa before landing. Standard tiers (1-Day, 5-Hour, etc.) are Mon–Fri only.
I already applied on evisa.gov.vn — can I Speed Up?
Yes. Do not reapply. Check status at evisa.gov.vn/e-visa/search with Reference Code (E260705...). Send Reference Code + registered email + flight number to WhatsApp +84 947 754 252. Tiers: 3-Day USD 65, 1-Day USD 85, 5-Hour USD 100, 2.5-Hour USD 130, 1-Hour USD 160. USD 25 govt fee deducted.
What is the cutoff time for urgent Vietnam eVisa from the US?
1-Hour: 07:00 ET (06:00 CT / 04:00 PT). 2.5-Hour: 04:00 ET. 5-Hour: 02:00 ET. 1-Day and 3-Day: midnight ET. Weekend: 04:00 ET Sat/Sun. After all cutoffs: Boarding Letter 30 min, eVisa before landing — available 24/7.
What documents do I need for urgent eVisa?
Passport bio page scan (JPEG, MRZ visible, legible), portrait photo (JPEG, white background, no glasses), Vietnam arrival date from "Arrives" column of Vietnam-landing flight segment, entry port (SGN/HAN/DAD — not SIN/ICN), full legal name including all middle names from passport MRZ. iPhone: Settings → Camera → Formats → Most Compatible for JPEG.
Is urgent Vietnam eVisa approval guaranteed?
VietnamVisaEasy checks all documents before submission — the primary cause of processing delays is application errors (wrong photo format, wrong entry port, missing middle name, wrong date) that trigger silent Amendment Required flags. Agency-checked applications avoid these. Final approval rests with Vietnamese immigration. In cases where the committed timeframe cannot be met, VietnamVisaEasy issues a Boarding Letter bridge so travel can proceed.
Why can't I just reapply on evisa.gov.vn to speed up my stalled application?
Reapplying creates two applications with the same passport number. Vietnamese immigration triggers an automatic deduplication review. Neither can be approved until the review clears — 24 to 48 hours. This turns a fixable 60-minute situation into one that cannot be resolved before a same-day or next-day flight. Speed Up escalates the existing application without creating a duplicate.

VietnamVisaEasy is a private licensed travel agency that has processed urgent and emergency Vietnam eVisa applications since 2010. Pricing and cutoffs reflect current Vietnamese immigration processing arrangements. Last updated July 21, 2026.
